"An unacceptable and horrible display," Arteta labeled his team's performance. He now faces the challenge of lifting his players' spirits ahead of their upcoming trip to Everton. With a clear midweek to prepare, Arteta has a plan to "reset" and refocus his squad.
"We need to give them a break to decompress, and then use the long week to prepare thoroughly," Arteta explained. "The Christmas period is often make-or-break, and we want to be at our best."
Arteta also highlighted a "big lesson" from the game: the importance of learning from mistakes. "We made it harder for ourselves today, and that's something we must improve on. When the opponent earns their chances, we should be able to handle it better."
And this is the part most people miss... Arsenal's injury woes continue to plague them. Ben White's hamstring problem against Wolves adds to the list, which already includes William Saliba, Declan Rice, and Jurrien Timber. With scans pending, Arteta expressed his concern: "Bad news for sure. White hasn't had much game time due to previous injuries, and we had to take risks with Wilo today. We're stretched thin."
